NO REASON
TO WORRY

“Letting go of things does not mean getting rid of them. Letting them go means leaving them in existence.”

COST OVERVIEW

Who helps when a dying person needs inpatient hospice care?

The statutory health and long-term care insurance funds: they cover 95% of the costs of the daily rate agreed with the respective hospice.

The remaining 5% is borne by Elias Hospice and the provider itself. You will therefore not be charged for your stay.

Private insurance companies: They generally cover the costs incurred as a gesture of goodwill. However, we recommend that you check your insurance policy carefully before a stay at the hospice and, if necessary, obtain information from your insurance company.

Do you have any questions about the requirements for cost coverage by the insurance companies or a possible co-payment for medication? We will be happy to help you!

Our carrier

The legal entity of Hospiz Elias is the non-profit St. Dominikus Krankenhaus und Jugendhilfe gGmbH based in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, represented by Managing Director Marcus Wiechmann. Other facilities of the sponsor are the St. Marien- und St. Annastiftskrankenhaus in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, the St. Annastift children’s home in Ludwigshafen am Rhein and the Maria Regina children’s and youth village in Silz.

TRANSPARENCY IS IMPORTANT TO US

Five percent of the costs of the inpatient hospice must be covered by the facility and the provider themselves. This percentage has been stipulated by law throughout Germany since 2009. In order to be able to guarantee the quality of our care and support, we are therefore also dependent on the support of friends and sponsors of our facility.

Transparency plays an important role here: only what you can better understand and learn to appreciate is perceived as worthy of protection. Ask or visit us and get an idea of our work. We look forward to hearing from you!

“No human being, not even Christ as the Son of God, wants to die and did not want to die. (…) In these homes, hope and real prospects of success help to alleviate the physical and mental suffering of patients and make dying easier.”

Gerda Bauer; excerpt from a letter to the editor of the diocesan newspaper “Der Pilger”, August 13, 1991
