It is still difficult for men to show their feelings – even though ideas about what is typically masculine or feminine have changed considerably in the meantime. Especially in situations of grief and loss, men often react in a closed way. They deal with their feelings differently, they grieve differently, but no less intensely than women. This difference can lead to unexpected conflicts within the whole family. However, men who experience that their feelings are not labelled as weakness, but rather acknowledged, can deal with them better and are more likely to accept themselves \u2018in a state of emergency\u2019. Men and women can then cope with their grief together. Experience has shown that dealing with grieving men is a particular challenge. In order to provide appropriate support in complex grieving processes, special background knowledge and an inner approach to the topic are required. The aim of the event is to collect previous points of contact, to reflect on the limits and possibilities of one’s own competence to act, but also to develop an inner attitude towards bereavement counselling for men. The aim is to provide examples of how to deal helpfully with typical bottlenecks in men’s grief reactions. The lecture will also provide a space for sharing personal experiences. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
