Volunteers and full-time staff accompany seriously ill and dying people regardless of age, nationality, religion, social background, physical or mental abilities, sexual orientation or gender. They accompany people who have life stories that are sometimes characterised by limitations and problems due to inequality, which can lead to existential needs being jeopardised. And where, if not at the end of life, are existential needs at stake?
